Fundraising activities

All Beavers, Cubs and Scouts pay subscriptions towards regular running costs of the group. However, we constantly need additional funds to cover equipment replacement and to enhance the programme on offer in other ways.

Co-op Causes

As of today you will be able to choose us as your Co-op local cause. Sign in to your member’s account (register first if you do not already have one) and then follow the appropriate link.

We will receive 1p for every £1 that is spent in the Whitleigh branch for the next 6 months. These funds are ear-marked to replace our ageing camping equipment so that we can offer more and better opportunities to out Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Please choose us and help local youngsters become better adults.

Spending plans

Our current plans include rasing funds for the following:

Camping equipment

The group currently owns a number of canvas tents in various states of repair, all of which date back decades. Although these are solid and waterproof (when set up correctly) they are also bulky and lack a sewn-in groundsheet. We aim to replace the canvas patrol tents first with modern 6-person tents at the earliest opportunity, hopefully in time for a busy 2017 camping season. Our mess tent is sufficient for now, as is much of our cooking equipment, but it would be nice to upgrade the tables and chairs to ones that we can more easily transport to sites. Those who shifted the equipment for the woodlands camp best understand.
